Our History
Jeremiah's Journey was set up by four professionals in 1996. The service was informed by the work of Winston's Wish and we are continually incorporating new ideas from the bereavement literature. In particular we have been strongly influenced by the 'Continuing Bonds' theory (Klass, Silverman and Nickman, 1996) which argues that it is important to maintain a connection or bond with the person who has died. We are also familiar with the data from the Harvard Bereavement Study (Worden, 1996).
We gained registered charity status in 1999 (Registered Charity Number: 1078077).
