Volunteering

Make a Difference

There are different ways that you can be involved.  Come and join our friendly team and make a difference.

Raise Money

If you are full of ideas and energy then we could use you!  We are constantly organising our own events to raise money to fund our work.  Becoming a fundraising volunteer can be a very varied role from  holding a collection bucket to being a host at a ball.  if you are up for a challenge then speak to our fundraisers Sarah or Louise.  Click here for contact details.

Supporting Families

Our therapeutic group programmes are facilitated by a team of trained volunteers.  This is a dynamic team made up of individuals from various professional backgrounds for example Social Workers, Psychologists, Teachers and Counsellors.  As this is such a rewarding opportunity we currently do not have any vacancies.  Please register your interest by speaking to the Coordinator, click here for contact details.

Work in our Shop

Located in Stoke Village we have an Aladdin's Cave like charity shop.  Staffed by dedicated and fun loving volunteers our charity shop provides regular income to help fund our work and so is a vital part of our organisation.  We are always on the look out for new members of the team so if you can spare a couple of hours a week then come and join us.  Why not have a chat with our charity shop manager, Maggie, click here for contact details.

Children we help

Beth aged 14 years came to a group programme after her dad had died suddenly and unexpectedly. She was having difficulty concentrating at school and felt that it was hard for others to understand how she was feeling. Her relationship with her dad hadn't always been easy and she was struggling with her guilt. At the group she met other young people who had experienced the death of someone significant to them. They shared their coping strategies with Beth. She began to realise that others had a similar mix of feelings as well as good and not so good memories. She felt less alone in her grief and found a new supportive network of friends.
